This is Ceiling Star's seventh album. After a long hiatus, Ceiling Star is back! This has been a very collaborative effort. Instead of all of the songs being written by Michael ahead of time, a couple of the drum ideas came from Dan, and Michael wrote a song around that rhythm. Also, Dan came up with a couple of the guitar riff ideas, and then Michael expanded on those initial riffs by adding lyrics and a vocal melody, as well as changes. Dan recorded all of his drum and percussion parts at his studio, and then emailed those parts to Michael to record his additional parts to the drums, and vice versa. After that, additional synth, bass, and vocals were recorded on a couple of songs at the Golden Mallard. Bryan Lewis did a wonderful job mixing seven of the songs at The Golden Mallard, and Michael mixed the other seven songs at The Dotyboy Lounge. Social distancing can force you to create some inventive ways of recording music together. This album was a tremendous amount of fun to record, and we are very happy with how it turned out!
